Next up.... The Pooch Parade and yes, Jeremy wasn't especially excited about this...haha.... even though it WAS his idea to make leg warmers for her =)
The Pooch Parade is a three mile walk-a-thon for dogs! Last year it raised over 50,000 dollars for dog rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Thanks to friends and family, I was able to raise over $100 in pledges in just one day!!! Whoooo hooooo!
Dogs were supposed to be dressed in costumes, but Mandy and a few others were the only ones we noticed that were dressed up. I'm not sure what Mandy's costume really was.... she had hot pink boas in her hair, hot pink leg warmers, and her birthday shirt. Someone said she looked like she was dressed from the 80s, haha.
This made me laugh. Just like a real marathon, there are always water stops along the trail.... so of course they had those for all the doggies too!
Even grand"pup"parents came to support little Mandy!
And yes, the police were there =)
We even ran into Mandy's vet. She is the one who saved Mandy's life a few weeks ago after she was stung by a bee and was bearly breathing. We love this vet!!!!!
Okay, enough dog stuff. Now let's move on to something even better.... MY BIRTHDAY!!!! I woke up to Jeremy serving me breakfast in bed! Look! He even cut the watermelon and apples into the shape of hearts. Of course, this started the day off with a BIG smile.
I received many phone calls from family and friends wishing me a wonderful day. I especially loved the "Happy Birthday Song" sung by little Eli and Thad on my voicemail....soooooo cute! (On the other hand, I did NOT like the forever long voicemail message from my Mom playing an Il Divo song for waaaaaaaay too long, haha. Ok, it DID make me laugh) Later that day, I came home to find these yellow roses on my porch, sent with love from Tiffany and Jason! I felt sooooo loved all day long!
I had a GREAT day! As I looked at Jeremy (and Mandy) sing "Happy Birthday" to me (well, Jeremy sang, Mandy just made a bunch of funny growling noises at him the entire time)... then I looked at my slice of strawberry pie with a candle glowing, the two boxes tied in red ribbon marked "Coach" (yippee), and then down at my belly moving with little baby kicks.... I started to laugh and cry at the same time simply because I was so incredibly happy. I feel so blessed. I struggled with what to wish for before blowing out my candle. What do you wish for when you feel like you have it all? I just know that my 30s are going to be some of the BEST years of my life!!!!!!
The next day, we went to our childbirth class and Jeremy was asked to be in a short skit to teach all the moms-to-be about asking the nurses and doctor questions during labor and being politely assertive. I just thought he looked so cute in that lab coat!!! In real life he may not be Dr. Wonderful.... but I think he is MR. WONDERFUL! (p.s.- he is going to KILL me when he finds out I put this picture on here, haha)

Time for games... Trisha did such a wonderful job! So much fun! (although I think we both realized that 2nd graders are much better listeners than a big group of women, haha)
Yay! I gave Trisha a special gift for her hard work on all the games. Yes, it is a Twilight shirt.... yes, we both LOVE the books.... and the movie..... and the main character, Edward... and finally yes, we are both supposed to be "grown ups", but there is NOTHING wrong with that =)
